Today kicked off the first day of opening statements in a civil trial against rapper, Snoop Dogg, by a Seattle man who claims the artist and his entourage severely beat and robbed him after jumping on stage in a concert in a Seattle in 2005. Richard Monroe, Jr. is now seeking $22 million in damages against Snoop (Calvin Broadus).

Monroe was under the impression he had permission to join Snoop and his entourage on stage during “Gin n Juice” but in turn was allegedly beaten and robbed by the performer and friends. And there’s a video recording of the incident to bat. Considering Snoop already owes the state of California over $280 thousand in taxes, one would imagine the rapper is sweating major bullets right about now.

Fanshionisto, Kanye West and self proclaimed Louis Vuitton Don tries his hand at design, partnering up with his favorite designer to release a line of footwear called, Louie… How fitting. West has been sporting the yet-to-be-released kicks on his own feet the past few weeks and they were featured on the LV runway during Paris Fashion Week. Dope style or overly glamourized tennis shoes in flashy colors?

Chris Brown, feeling the heat of Jay Z’s wrath.

Friday, February 20th, 2009

According to Jay Z, Chris Brown is a dead man. Any show he books, Jay will perform for FREE; any radio stations that play Chris Brown will no longer be permitted to play anything produced my Def Jam. A source tells Us Weekly, “He hit the roof. Chris is a walking dead man. He messed with the wrong crew.”

Daaaamn Sammy. Looks like Chris Brown’s got another thing coming.

Rest In Peace

Tryone Love

What is this ?!? Do we live in the wild west ?!? How many shootings have we had in the last 6 months ? 20 ? Honestly, this sh*t is absolutely ridiculous.  This latest addition to the Seattle murder log is a huge loss, especially in the NightLife community. Why is the constantly happening… i’ve heard a few people say that it was probably a mistaken identity situation, does that justify the fact that someone was out to handle a situation by murdering another person.  How are we supposed to improve Nightlife in a city that is proactively trying to shut us down if people can’t control their emotions.  Well, shooter, let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only taking a great promoter that was doing more than his part to improve his community and the Seattle Nightlife community, but also for giving the city another reason to tighten their grip on our industry, allowing them to move ever closer to extinguishing the flame that Tyrone and the rest of us have been working so hard to rekindle, way to go.  Tyrone, was loved by many and will be sincerely missed.
